About

Godly men are hard to come by these days. It would seem to me, that with all that the world has to offer, the road to destruction has indeed got wider and wider. It is a tough world out there for men in the church. We face daily challenges of continual temptation to compromise. It is so difficult to be Christ-like and yet still live in the world.

As Christians we are here on Earth as an act of worship to God. Where worship does not exist, it is our priority to bring it there. The friend you have that does not know Christ, the neighbour who you know is lost, your brother who has drifted… It is your absolute priority to take the message of salvation to them, but you have work, you have school, you have a wife or girlfriend. You have any number of worldly excuses that prevents you from being a Paul or a Timothy in this world.

Christ-like men, is about how to be Christ like in such a tough world as a man. How to overcome the challenges that face us, how to build the kingdom of God here on Earth, while still being in the world. I do not claim to know it all, but through the grace of God I hope to at least make a start on tackling the barriers between us and Christ. Every Friday I will tackle relevant issues and express my random thoughts. On occasion I may do a review of a book, movie or music album. Also at least once a year there will be a season of stretching your faith, outside the box, over a series of posts on a specific theme.

I appreciate that the blog is only focused on men and you will find little advice for women here. The reason for this, is not because men are any way more important than women, simply I fear that any advice I might have for women would be dangerous! It is important to note at this point, that men and women have different attributes that make the body of Christ work the way it does. There are some things that women are gifted in, that men, clearly are not and visa versa. Men and women should never see one area of service as being more important than another in the body of Christ, but rather where do their gifting’s lie and how they can serve in the body of Christ in the most Godly and biblical way.

It is my hope and prayer, that this blog serves to raise up Godly men and they learn how to stand firm on the rock of Christ, no matter what the consequences may be.
